Scammed by a coach who had never dealt in our trade
Signed up for a programme (no signature or contract signed) discovered it was extremely overpriced for what it was after we received generic spread shots tailored to a completely different business model, so spent days to alter the formulas and layout to fit our business model. He then tried to upsell after 1 month and increase his price by over 60% with the phrase “you’ll have to pay the higher price if you don’t lock in asap”, that along with trying to sell accountants and third party people (which he’d 100% be making commission from). Eventually when we tried to leave he has tried to take us to court for the entire years worth of value (over 30k) …. Again when no contract was signed.
Overpriced, outdated materials and aggressive contract pressure
I joined Jamie Simpson’s Profitable Contractor Blueprint after a sales call that made the programme sound far more comprehensive than it actually was. There were one or two useful tips in the first session, but honestly the value stopped there. The content felt like something that could have been covered in a single hour-long call, not stretched out into an ongoing coaching arrangement. The price was extreme for what was delivered. The course itself was a very basic slideshow presentation that looked thrown together. The spreadsheets we were given were clearly outdated and several simply did not work properly, which made the practical side of the training frustrating and largely useless. What concerned me most was the contract pressure. I started on a monthly rolling agreement, but was soon told prices were going up because of how busy Jamie was, and that I needed to sign up to a fixed-term contract to keep the original rate. The agreements were sent by email and felt one-sided and dodgy. When I tried to leave, the tone changed completely. I was threatened with court proceedings, sent letters to my home address, and made to feel like I was being pursued personally. It went from a business disagreement to something far more intimidating. I would not recommend the Profitable Contractor Blueprint to any contractor looking for genuine support. The value simply is not there and the aftermath is not worth it.
